Fat Mama is a huge female who somehow ended up in the basement of a restaurant, neglected and overfed. She appears to have been spayed and we were told that she was taken to the vet and tested, but there's a lot we don't know about her, including her age. She has the teeth of a young cat, she's very nice, but doesn't like other animals.
Mushpot is a lover, but hides when company comes. Not a good way to get himself adopted...  If I drag him out of hiding he snuggles in my lap, purrs and drools. He'll be fine if anybody ever takes him.

Barry is a very large cat who has lived on the street for some time. He decided to hang out in my friend's back yard, to the consternation of the cats already in residence. 'They were afraid of him -- and I think he was afraid of them too. At least, he seems anxious about the cats here when they come too close. Barry is lovely with people and will do well in a home where he's the only pet.

We were unable to get a photo of him with his eyes open because he learned to anticipate the flash. He's really smart!

Bloobie (Blue Beast) is a rather splendid blue cat. For a long time he was so shy that I thought he'd never get adopted -- although he was always gentle -- but recently he's become quite friendly, walking up to me and presenting himself for stroking. In a home of his own I suspect he'll blossom into a spectacularly affectionate cat.
Marcus is a tough guy with a heart of gold. Somebody taught him to play rough -- and he does. But I can trim his claws and he sits there and purrs. He also likes to bolt out of open doors; you can always tell when he makes his exit because he trills triumphantly as he gets past the human who was too slow to block him. We like him in spite of himself. Since he's been with us he's calmed down a lot (one of his favorite things is to spread out on top of me and purr while I'm reading), but he's still a lot of cat. You'll never be bored with Marcus around.
