Mr. E. is a mystery: He was found already neutered, sitting in front of the apartment building where he had once lived. What was his past? Why was he left outside? He's an enormous cat with a little voice, a bit aloof unless food is involved. He's gotten to the point where he tolerates our dogs and other cats, but he'd be happiest as an only pet. |
Descant was found by a young policeman, who kept her in the precinct garage because he was allergic to cats. After making umpteen calls to shelters that refused to take her, he called me -- and I told him to bring her in. She's a very nice cat, but would rather be an only pet than part of the mob scene here. |
Lola belonged to a frail elderly woman who was afraid that the cat would cause her to fall by rubbing against her ankles or her walker. Lola is a very gentle, affectionate cat. When she found herself in a cage here she was upset enough to hiss -- but never put out a claw or offered to bite. She will be an ideal family pet. |
Soot is a pudgy, cross-eyed middle-aged cat who has been here since she came in as a feral kitten. For years she was an aloof, timid cat -- and then she suddenly decided to make friends and likes nothing better than to be petted! She throws herself onto the floor, rolls back and forth inviting belly rubs and kisses the hand that's touching her. (Her sister Cinders is just as unfriendly as ever.) |
Kayla ran right up to her rescuer on the street and asked for help. She's a very gentle, friendly kitty.
| Nefertitti is a darling: a sleek Siamese mix with a gentle, loving personality. She was adopted soon after she arrived here, but returned several months later because she liked the furniture as well as her scratching post. If you're house proud, Nefertitti is not the cat for you. If you want a real lover -- look no further. |
